Hearts for Hannah FundraiserJanuary 9, 2018
Have you met Linda?
Linda teaches open flow on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:15. She’s also an art educator in the Greece Schools, and an artist. She creates glass beads & jewelry. She also has a big heart, and for the past several years has been holding an annual fundraiser selling her glass bead jewelry to raise money for Joining Hearts and Hands, Ltd. This non-profit promotes improved educational, health and economic conditions for African orphans and their communities by building schools, sponsoring health clinics, providing secondary scholarships, and nurturing sustainable development initiatives – all to promote dignity, opportunity and hope.
This fundraiser has special, local meaning as it was Hannah Congdon’s hope to make a difference for those less fortunate. Hannah tragically died in a car accident, along with 4 of her best friends, just days after graduating form Fairport High School in 2007. Linda has been doing this fundraiser in Hannah’s honor, thus the name, Hearts for Hannah.
This year, we will kick off the fundraiser with a gentle yoga class on Sunday February from 3:00-4:30. You can sign up here. After class, you can see the hearts that will be for sale. All proceeds will go to Joining Hearts and Hands, Ltd.
Here are some examples of the jewelry hearts Linda has made in the past:
We hope you can join us to support this great cause!
